If the blue light turns on then turns off, you're just missing the boot.firm. It's not bricked. Now if it's a solid blue light then you might have other issues.

OK, about that. If the 3ds turns off right when you power it on, that means that it can't find boot.firm. If you can, backup EVERYTHING on your SD and format the SD to FAT32. Then make sure boot.firm is at the root. That should work. If it were bricked, the power would stay on and stay on a black screen.

So I basically tried to CFW my brothers 3ds, then none of it worked out

this tells absolutly nothing about the problem statements like this could simply be ignorance on the users end please for the love of god tell us what the consoles problem is . . . not your problem with the console

looks like and is are two different things . . . why ask for help ,receive advice, and without being able to try it, complain like you know better than the people you came to ask for help do

in conclusion 1 stop panicking 2 when soft-modding a console dont assume problems are hardware 3 please dont put down any potential solutions until you can actually try them
