Help

I was transferring some files from my SD to my computer, and then I put my micro SD card back in my new 3ds, and it won't boot, it just a black screen and the blue light, when I boot the console whiteout an micro SD card it runs normally, I try almost everything to fix this, if you have an idea why this happen it would help me a lot

This are some things that I have done
(put a backup in the 3ds, put another micro SD, format to fat32 again an transfer all the data again; this took 2 hours, boot the new 3ds in safe mode, rename the Nintendo 3ds folder, etc, etc.)

If anyone know how to fix whiteout buying a new SD card reader it will help a lot

The boot.firm was likely corrupted. re-download the latest Luma3ds and put it on the SD card. Basically Boot9Strap will look for any .firm file on the root of the SD card named "boot.firm" in this case Luma3ds.

Firstly, do what @Zyvyn said and download the latest version of Luma, and copy its boot.firm to the root of your SD card.
You can get Luma here:

Just download the zip file, and extract it. Then copy boot.firm to your SD card's root.

Hold down SELECT while booting with the SD card in. Does the Luma config menu appear?

...weird. Is that also the version you get if you hold SELECT while booting with the SD card removed? (you know, use the luma version on your NAND)

It only show the luma settings without the microSD card, if I put the SD card on it does nothing, just back screen

Weird. If possible, use a different SD card with the latest version of Luma to see if that works.

Just the latest boot.firm file (Luma3DS).

Also, i think you need to check the sd card for errors with h2testw as it might be faulty. Backup your data somewhere safe (on your pc), empty the sdcard, then run h2testw with the "read and verify" setting. It should tell you if it is faulty.

How did you format the new card? And how large is it?

There seem to be lots of stories these days about larger cards not being formatted properly because they have extra partition data.

I used the fat32 format program, and it's a 128 g SanDisk micro SD

But it never give me any problems before and I did format and try another SD card, but it was the same, back screen an blue light

And, yeah I used always in my 3ds, I buy it just for that , I have a lot of games on it and never give me any problem


The new card has 16 gigabytes , and I formatted with the same program, I'm going to do it again with that just to be sure

done, yeah probably its the Sd card reader at this point i tried everything, i`m going to buy a new one but they are hard to find, theres only for the New nintendo xl

No, no; The usual way we format cards (among other devices) as FAT32 is to use guiformat.
Simple, free, and small tool that gets it done simply and easily.

Be careful with it though, as if there's no storage devices attatched to your PC (internal or external) GUIformat will automatically select your C:\ drive, which is where Windows lives. It never formats unless you press the button to, but still. Caution is excellent.

yeah i used that already whit my two Sd cards, i think its the card reader at this point
