Preach on.
Halfway through the entire first post, so they wouldn't have gotten there.

Am I the only one who wants to read Rydian's thesis?

I mean, we just went through a thread about 5th dimension aliens using quantum energy to create the world, psychic energy, pyrokinesis, drug abuse being beneficial, alleged crop circles (because when aliens are powerful enough to create life, they tend to be interested only in artistic gardening) and how we can create nutrition with the power of our mind as long as we have love in our hearts and awaken our middle brain, how is this not as interesting, if not more? :tpi:
Well I already mentioned the whole "repeat the info other people repeat so you don't look stupid" thing, but it could also be some sort of desire to spread warnings through the group. Kind of like "fire hot, do not put dick in fire", and better safe than sorry.

I also like One Piece, Berserk, and I'm currently obsessed with JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (just finished part 5 today).

Now, why am I making this thread?
It's because I'm noticing a trend.

Now, let's take Naruto as an example, since it's what I used to draw your interest to this thread. It's okay to dislike Naruto for actual reasons. Here, I'll be helpful and give you all some examples.
  • Character growth is much slower than people are used to. Believe it or not, it actually exists (in recent chapters Naruto has actually made friends with the fox spirit inside him, and learned it's name), but it's so slow that you can easily spend a hundred chapters dealing with a character who has annoying flaws (mainly Naruto himself from the start), and that's way too long for some people, especially when you consider the growth that some animated series tend to shove into a 26-episode series.
Thanks a lot for that spoiler, now I know what's coming next in the anime :(

So... you're into JoJo's Bizzare Adventure eh?
I've been wanting to start that. :0

I was once in an argument with somebody about the big 3 ( OP, Bleach and Naruto), he kept insisting that Bleach was better because "Ichigo is stronger than Naruto."
Does that make DBZ the best anime ever? I mean who could possibly be more powerful than Goku .-.

Haruhi kami-sama.

Therein lies a problem...

Touche Rydian.
Touche.

I'm among those who believe an opinion can transcend into fact. Like, Naruto is bad. This is fact. It's technically opinion, but when one can write a trilogy on the faults of Naruto, I think it's safe to say that opinion transcends opinion and is now fact.
Though that's just my opinion

this is a messy subject.

WOW Is this thread for real?

We're actually attempting to have a serious discussion about fucking Anime?
you're missing the point here
what Rydian is trying to say is that people should have actual reasons to claim if something is bad or not.

I don't have to watch the entire Naruto anime (oh god, the sole act of thinking about it makes me sick) to realise that I don't like it. But if a conversation pops up about it and I'm saying "Naruto sucks donkey farts", I have to watch at least some episodes to justify my opinion.

The problem is not people saying it sucks without watching it, but people saying it sucks without giving a proper reason, instead hating it because it seems to be cool to hate on it.

yeah, that's true
but sometimes, there is no need to justify some opinions. For example:
If I said... "the Jaguar sucks". Who could argue with that?

Welcome to the Internet Rydian. It's even worse when people are like that IRL... Most of the time people just don't see the difference between somrthing actually bad and something they don't like.

That's why it sucks. We've all seen the footage. At least I have. (Regrettably.)

This thread wasn't totally necessary. Needing evidence to support claims is a principle we've all agreed upon on this forum. So much so that we mock people who don't.

Didn't the Jaguar have a pretty good version of Doom?

Oh, you meant the console *facepalm*
I was thinking of either the car, the animal or an anime I didn't know called Jaguar (although in that case the 'the' wouldn't have made much sense).
But you should at least give a reason like "it has no games that I enjoy", "90% of its library is ports" or "it has shitty specs" or something. (I have no idea about the actual specs and library of the device, mind you)
