PLEASE HELP! I bricked my Wii! I tried to install the startup disc menu and it broke! I had priiloader installed, but it deleted it itself! (IT CANT BOOT TO PRIILOADER) so please help! I’m it’s near my birthday and I can’t show them gameplay! Pls help! I have absolutely no idea how to change the green boards! Help me!
(It boots up to a black screen) (the installed boot 1 prevents a boot 2 install)
(I did not use a pc….)

The only method I can think of for repairing this is restoring a NAND image with a hardware flasher.

Installing another version of System Menu removes Priiloader. In addition to that the IOS for the pre-launch version that required this disc (which you probably do not have) is most likely stubbed → The "Insert Startup Disc" screen won't show.

Why do people keep doing this? If you want to see that screen I guess it can be found on YouTube… or installed into Dolphin emulator without risking bricking a Wii. At the very least dangerous experiments should be done on a unit with the old boot1 and BootMii in boot2.

And how do I do that?
Do what? Restore a backup externally?

Using a hardware flasher requires having one and desoldering the NAND chip. You have to have equipment and skill to do that.

In the end the common advise is always the same: "Get another Wii and be more careful next time." I hate this solution because it is no real solution and effectively reduces the number of working consoles. Wii is out of production for many years.

Sadly most people can't do the involved hardware based repair (and information is hard to find). I certainly could not do it.

Do I need to admit that my Wii is broken?

if it is, then well…. At least I saved my Wii party and nsbmw data on to my sad card before it broke…

Not to be rude, but why the FUCK did you install that? What's the purpose? And you don't even have a vulnerable boot1... *sigh.

Yeah, next time (if you get another Wii) use "YAWM-ModMii Edition" to install wads as it has the option to keep Priiloader installed when messing with the System Menu. But really, you shouldn't mess with it if you don't know what you are doing.

I think it’s a iOS brick

Can you use Savemiifrii to unbrick?

I still have hope that I can fix this Wii!

I've no idea what exactly happens when installing the pre-launch menu. As far as I know some piracy site distributed this thing as part of a collection of WAD files. A lot of people carelessly installed the whole set and got a full brick.
No idea if this is still the case as I don't use piracy sites.

Other times curiosity made users install this thing for whatever reason. To my knowledge nobody answered the "Why!?" question yet.

In any case there is not much to see -- even if it worked. Just a screen asking you to insert a disc which you do not even have. Nothing spectacular. For anybody curios: Some screenshots are on hackmii.com. Unfortunately the images are broken right now so I'll provide a link to a random snapshot created by the Wayback Machine. Insert Startup Disc

This probably requires some parts of the software to be at least partially functional. No harm trying but I guess the only way is hardware flashing.

I suppose you could use a mod chip that can auto boot a disc. then you could try to boot a burned disc with wad installer on it and try to install the system menu wad.

if you install the menu wad file!the priiloader maybe del,so you can use bootmii sd card file to try if the bootmii work!

This is a video I made several years back. It'll answer your question about SaveMiiFrii.

This one is part of the process of flashing the NAND with hardware.

I do not have bootmii as boot2. I already explained in the main post. (I said "the installed boot 1 prevents a boot 2 install")

You just gave yourself a major problem/headache all for nothing. I guess you didn't read and research before doing that. Maybe you can buy a second hand Wii some place would be better/quicker. Or just emulate the Wii at this point.

What will you do with the old broken wii?
display figure I guess?
