Anyone that wanted to get emailed about hykem's IOSU exploit, there's an easy alternative. just simply bookmark his profile HERE , then go to recent activity. He only EVER posts when he has something to say. And he usually posts around 12 PM EST. Just simply check his profile before checking gbatemp, at least once a day.
Maybe even once again later in the day.

I just really REALLY hope someone ports xbmc "now named kodi" to the wiiu. It would be the best media center to date.
while this sounds good in theory even if it did happen it wouldn't be that great the big bulky gamepad with terrible battery life would not make a very good remote.
if you want something cheap to use kodi on get a fire tv stick, if you want something good get a 2015 model fire tv that thing can decode 10-bit 1080p x265 hevc smoothly. if the wii u ever did get kodi it's performance would probably be closer to the stick.

Just got my son a wiiu its on 5.5 is it worth dumping the nand like with Xbox 360? seems just the same just solder a few wires to a sd reader for hardware dump

Will doing this save from bricking I read if u have a backup of a working nand after a update u can use it to downgrade no efuse?if so its worth me taking a 5.5 backup now...https://www.reboot.ms/forum/threads/guide-emmc-nand-dump-backup-restore.530/

I didn't mean to imply that Hykem was making a home brew channel, he and I were both just citing it as an example. As far and I know HBC hasn't even begun coding by anyone yet. Maybe @Marionumber1 ;3

I and others have tried this method. There was no reputable member confirming success, and more than one person bricked their Wii U attempting this.

Apparently that's the internal storage.
There's discussion and a NAND dump method here (but no mentions of a restore process)

Aw men this is just crazy. I know that I always say never get hyped, but the hype is real dude x'D
Exploit on January 100% confirmed right? I don't think that the Exploit needs to be delayed to February if it was close to be finished on December, I think.

Anyway, patience is a virtue of something.

I'm super interested if the wiiu will boot without bluray drive plugged in and removed. When iosu is out was thinking of replacing bd drive with 2.5" hard drive and install a powered usb hub in it's place hardwired to usb socket on motherboard :) 2tb storage :)
