Even if you used an EmuNAND, you'd still need to spoof your SysNAND version to avoid accidental updates.

AWESOME

Hope that means an improvement for Wii U scene as of now because even tho Loadiine and WUP installer both do the job I'd take CFG USB loader and yawmm over them any day.

<3 GBAtemp you guys are the best.

What exactly you're preferring CFG usb loader for ?

Hello world,

I can read a lot of people wondering if we'll get an IOSU exploit by xMas..
I don't wanna be rude but I don't think it'll be possible.
Even though I admire Hyem's skills, that lot of pressure on his shoulder won't help him ..

I know how programming all day is like, how it feels at the end of the day ..
So I can pretty much imagine what decrypting data all day can be.

All we can do is provide our help if it's needed and/or wish them good luck !

Even if it gets released by Christmas, what good is it to you since theres nothing that takes advantage of the IOSU...
Everything that was released that takes advantage of PPC kernel exploit, can use the iosu exploit (already for 5.4.0 and 5.5.0 users) and give more possibilites like access to usb and all the hardware for users of Loadiin or vWii etc..

that will take time to code lol you cant just slap that in there, they have to write all the usb code and adapting loadiine to iosu entry points which might be either hard or easy who knows, regardless you wont see loadiine usb acess hdds day one after release for sure.

That's only true if they try to make an USB Loader first.
But having a Loadiine for 5.4.0 would already be a step forward don't you think ?
USB Loader will certainly come after..

again loadiine cant just be copyed to iosu, it will need to be ported and changed, who knows how much, still not day 1 i bet.

Might not be one day, but Dimok's next Loadiin version is prepared to be very easy to port to any firmware, and not only that, it's made to be a friendly environment for homebrew, so that could be our new homebrew channel ;)

The best way to get disappointed. I can hear the screams of despair from here if it's not happening. Understand your hope though.

I played too much Danganronpa.
I was disappointed when I bought Wii U and updated to 5.5.0

No advantage ?
Getting an USB Loader for 5.4.0 wouldn't be an advantage ?

Umm do you have an USB loader? I didnt think so. My point was that theres no real benefit if he releases it on Christmnas or 10 days later since theres nothing that can take advantage of it right away.

Yeah, but you could also argue that if it's released 10 days later the USB loader will also be released 10 days later. Essentially the earlier the exploit is released the earlier useful stuff for it is released as well, so there is a benefit, less waiting both for the exploit and for something like a USB loader (and yes from exploit release to USB loader won't be shorter but from now to USB loader will).

This whole thread is just a way for SonyUSA that is no dev on any team to get attention and steal credit from Hykem. Dude(SonyUSA) will respond with no just wanted to help(cause confusion). Why do you not see one post from Hykem on here, not one. But he steadily has posted in the original thread where he(SonyUSA) got his info from. I believe because Hykem does not agree with the thread in general. And knows better than to start a whole thread on this before its released which only gets a bunch of idiots worked up. That start asking and answering questions that no one but Hykem and the people working with him on this can honestly answer.
The sexism is strong with this one

But my question is this: Kernel permission is greater than IOSU permission. 5.3.2 has kernel permission. Why can't you use the kernel permission to directly run the IOSU in the way you want, thus achieving the same thing with the existing 5.3.2 exploit?

PPC kernel permission (which is what our currently-released kernel exploit gets) is not greater than IOSU permission. Both the PPC and ARM have their own complete OSes (Cafe OS and IOSU), with user and kernel modes. And the user mode of IOSU actually has more power than the Cafe OS kernel, since it can access all PPC memory, plus some ARM-only memory, and call directly into the IOSU kernel.

So the same SonyUSA who as promised gave us the amazing Gateway for N3DS release months ago is hacking her way through 5.5.0 on the WII U :D

This is awesome news, I personally cannot wait till these exploits are ready to be released and nintendo moves onto the next patches, I am very keen to play some Wii U backups

I just... I don't even... xD

I have nothing to do with Gateway team :P
I have nothing to do with Hykem's iosu hack :p

Oh geez I was just about to grab a wii u with earlier firmware for more hackability, now I don't know if I should go through the added trouble and cost. But then again I still have to get one before the next update comes out. Hmm...

Any hardware on a shelf at this point and for -at least- a month after 5.6 (or whatever the new firmware is) will be 5.5 or lower. So don't panic or rush to get one, there will be plenty when the hack releases!

I'm not stealing anything. Did I miss a question that somebody asked? How many people so far have gathered useful answers to the questions everybody wants to know about this hack because of this thread? I'm not claiming to have helped/written/made this in any way, shape, or form; I just like to help the community out by making information easily accessible, even to idiots like you. If I just wanted attention I wouldn't spend hours writing and revising guides for everybody.
