It's already been known to be patched in 3.0.1 and if you want to buy one on 3.0.0 you gotta buy one soon because they start coming out with updates quick. You probably only have a few weeks at most to buy them on 3.0 or lower.

Both piracy and translations are POSSIBLE, but still a ways off. Translations would, in theory, be more likely to become a thing sooner than piracy. 3DS, for example, could play / patch out of region games with just homebrew. This bug will definitely speed things up, though.

It's worth keeping in mind it's not like they had some kind of homebrew, they've been using this exploit to navigate the system to figure out how it works, so a "release" has already happened in the form of the documentation released continously on switchbrew, I'm not sure there's anything cool homebrew coming soon at least not something super useful, but I don't know.
