ROM Hack How to transfer save files?

If I were to get a new 3ds, how would i transfer my save files from my cia games to the new console so I dont need to start over?

If you're gonna be using CFW for both (which I hope you will), use JKSV. Install the CIA, open it, choose SD / CIA, select the game, export. copy the Saves folder from your SD root to your new system, do the same steps but import instead of export.

Don't try to use a .sav. They are locked to the hardware and will not be usable on your other system.

I would be using Gateway. Does JKSV work with it?

Sadly no. No save managers work with Gateway.
Do this instead.
