You can't delete your personal Mii.
You have to edit it manually in the Mii Maker.
I discovered that when I wanted to use mt Wii's Mii, and I had to make a new one before I could get to importing from my Wii.

Once you're in Mii plaza, go over your Mii and click it. Now click "Mii Settings", "Change Mii".
