This works with any .csu right? So savedatafiler... it exports decrypted saves and can import decrypted saves back into the game while setting their proper encryption? Both Card1 and Card2 titles?

I can personally only confirm that it works for my Pokemon X that I bought legitimately from the eShop. I believe it does exactly what the Datel Powersaves adpater does. It made a folder called "filer" on my SD card that contained a few other things, but the actual file you are looking for is just called "main". You can edit that and then go back into SaveDataFiler and import it back. I assume it will work with any game that is properly installed on your home menu (not sure about newer games).

Yep! I now have a Blaziken that knows all thunder moves.

I used it to add Volcanion just as a test. I tried to send one in a wonder trade but it said it could not find me a partner. =(

Might be that I'm not up to date, but is it possible to decrypt a gateway Pokemon Y savefile, add header information, encrypt it and play it online?

yeah, i'm interested, can i take a save from a cart with the proper encryption that gateway doesn't support, decrypt it, edit it, and put it al back together, and put it on the cart and have it working? as in, using this can we do everything powersaves/cybergadget does?

Well, you must first install the game to your SD (so it becomes a eshop version). Then you can use Save Data Transfer Tool to move your save data from your Gateway rom to your eshop game.

i thought the savedatafiler thing works with carts too? it doesn't?

ok no problem, i think i read that it does work, that it can put cart-sd and sd-cart... let the testing begin :)

I'm new to this, can anyone enlighten me what I need to buy to run these tools exactly?

And will these work with actual game cards that use savegame encryption from the latest firmware?

Here is my version of a script. Just reposting from another thread. The rsf is already patched.
To everyone who keeps asking me about recompiling SaveDataFiler as an installable cia.
Here is an easy automated script, all you need is "SaveDataFiler.3ds". This is tested and confirmed working with the version from SDK-5.2.2. Thanks to all the people who helped.

:!: Disclaimer: I am in no way responsible if you screw up your save file using this.

Here you go!

:yay: Enjoy

SaveDataFiler works with:

- Any ROM that still saves inside itself like Pokemon Y/X after beeing mounted
- Any eshop game that is installed to your SD Card
- Any converted .3ds to .cia (look at user too for the games ID)

SaveDataFiler does not work:

- outside Gateway Mode (no Classic Mode!)
- on Retail Games (because 3ds doesn't detect it in Gateway Mode)
- with Rom Games saving into .sav on SD Card

SaveDataFiler can provide you:

- Decrypted Savegames
- Possebility to modify Decrypted Savegames
- Importing decrypted Savegames
- Backing up EUR, import in USA Games >> PROOF

Transfer decrypted saves from different 3ds is not tested
(only got one 3ds, so i can't test it), but should work as long both uses GW.

So while it doesn't work with .sav files Gateway makes on the SD card, it DOES work when you mount that ROM from the select menu and then use SDF right?

No, that's exactly what he was saying I think. Couldn't get it to work with any ROM that uses GW .sav files no matter if unmounted or mounted.

Only IF the rom doesn't use Gateway's .sav file and still stores it inside the rom like Pokemon Y/X!

what about eshop games, or cia installed games, can those saves be converted to work with gateway sav on the sd card?

Go ahead an program a tool for this, but no, it' not possible until someone does.

As for rom and saves:

Card1: Game stores save in seperate EEPROM
Card2: Game stores game and save in a single nand

So wait, how does it work with Fantasy Life then? Its a 3ds card 1 game that saves to an .sav on SD card.

Forgot to add:

SaveDataFiler works with:

- Any Rom that stores Save like eShop Games

Hint: Fantasy Life stores the save on your SD Card and leaves the .sav alone (check it, its all hex A0)
