please someone help me how to do the nand backup?
just ball up your fist and pound the controller. it takes some practice but its possible.
Uhhh ... just to be sure that you mean restore the nand backup. You don't have to press a+b+x+y to backup the nand, only to restore it after you already have backed it up before.
I ask because your post is asking how to do the nand backup, not how to restore it.
If you actually want to back it up, choose the option in bootmii that has the arrow going away from the little icon of the nand chip. If not then it's easy to press a+b+x+y as long as you have GC controller, otherwise it's impossible as far as I know.
and even with a gc controller it can be a pain in the ass
been there done that >_>
It's just very, very touchy. You will need to do this with a gamecube controller. When you press the buttons, you will need to press them all within a split second of each other. Experiment with different ways to hold your fingers so you can press all 4 buttons at virtually the same time.
Maybe TT should add an option for those without a GC pad, like say Hold Eject and press Reset or something.
You do know there is an option with priiloader to have recovery mode load automatically @ system startup.....therefore skipping all this retarded-ness...????
From the looks of the picture above bootmii is installed as an ios and not boot 2. Restoring the nand could lead to a brick. Im pretty sure thats why they put the button combo in there. to prevent accidents. I don't have to use that button combo when i restore my nand with bootmii at boot 2.
sometimes you can have gotten yourself into such a mess its better to return then to try and fix (which could leave into even more trouble)
EDIT: but then you should have gotten yourself into a HUGE mess and i doubt OP is in such a mess
Obviously not possible for BootMii / IOS
Eject+reset or some such combo as an alternative to A+B+X+Y would be nice. Currently, you can't use the restore without a GC pad if bootmii is an IOS.
@Leathl: Front buttons not working in the IOS version was a bug in the first version or so of bootmii, but it has long since been fixed.
Good to know
