why would you want to REMOVE the archive bits ?
All the folders and files inside Contents/registered must have the archive bit set. non-latest Win10 clears the archive bit on folders when copying them over. Use total commander to copy them over next time.

it worked. i copied all the files with total commander as suggested.

for reference I use Windows 10 Entreprise 2016 LTSB. Version 1607 (OS Build 14393.2368)

I understand what you said about the latest version of win10, dont worry. i checked the previous posts and saw the article you posted.

Thanks for your time. Your guide and tools are great. Keep up the good work.

I can't seem to get past step 7.

    c:\Users\Nick2\Desktop\SWITCH_Backup>ChoiDujour.exe --keyset=C:\Users\Nick2\desktop\switch_backup nx5.1

    uses hactool by SciresM (https://github.com/SciresM/hactool)
visit https://switchtools.sshnuke.net for updates and more Switch stuff!

Using source firmware files from folder nx5.1

I've tried the list of keys on page 48 but still nothing. Keys.txt is in the same folder (switch_backup). Or does it need to be in the firmware folder?

I am on 4.0.1, trying to update to 5.1.

    Thanks in advance.

Excellent guide, thank you. Took about 60-90 minutes, everything was very clearly written and easy to follow. Now on 5.1.0 with 4 burnt fuses (from 3.0.2).

Did I download the correct thing (i want to go from 4.1.0 to 5.1.0), or not?
And if not, where was i supposed to download it from?

    ChoiDujour keeps giving me a

Please excuse me for my ignorance, I've done the upgrade last week and everything works all right (never tried ext as I didn't know it could work) but after this choidujour update, what should I do in order to get it? Do I need to repeat all the steps from 7 and onward or is there a simpler procedure?

Thank you for your time and keep up the good work!

First, thank you to everyone. I have updated to 5.1 with only 5 fuses burnt. I guess I'm in auto RCM now since when I try to turn the Switch on nothing happens. Is this the desired result? What if I need to use my switch on the gogo, without a USB cable and payload injector? Also, sleep mode doesn't seem to work.

When running homebrew, do I want to be on CFW? What if I want to use online? Just ofw only? What if I want to update my Zelda cartridge? Am I okay going online and updating it and/or using eshop? I've heard of people disconnecting their Nintendo account from the switch. When are you supposed to do that and why?

Thank you again everyone in advance for your help during this process.

that key should be named "header_key_source", so just rename it to that, read previous page

Trying to recover someone's switch from a mishap. Ran through all the steps in the guide trying to restore firmware.it gets stuck on the switch logo when booting though.
If we restore the boot0/1 files,it shows Nintendo logo then turns off.

    Any ideas for that @rajkosto?

I updated from 4.0.1 to 5.1 . I followed all the steps to the very end. Send hekate_ipl.bin Launch firmware -> FS_510. I see some patch text appear and then the switch reboot. My screen stays dark afterward. Am I missing something? My SD card, I put all the SDFiles.zip in there and replaced with the 2 files from the generated firmware.

I can verify I have autoRCM on and bricc show 5 fuses

Is it possible to upgrade to 5.1 and buy games then package them somehow? So that if I go back to my old firmware I can reinstall them in future if going to latest firmware is no longer an option?

After using Vol+ to fix the files, I assume that we’re no longer in AutoRCM mode anymore.

This allows my SX Pro to boot CFW again, but I assume now I’m at risk of booting without using the SX bootloader or hekate - meaning the first time I power on my Switch without RCM I’ll boot into the new firmware and burn the fuse.

How to I preserve AutoRCM with briccmii while still being able to boot into SX CFW?
