    Hello everyone,

Is there a way to capture switch gameplay (for more than 30sec) without a capture card?
Like some way to transmit the image to pc.

I want to record some pokemon battles and upload it.

Well if you don't wanna use a capture card, try connecting the Switch to your computer with the usb thingy on the dock. Yes, computers double as game monitors. You could. perhaps, hook it up so it displays in a VM, then run OBS while the battle is going on. I don't know how to do that tho lol :ha:
You can always do the classic "Get a camera and record your tv" method (which is what i did for my very first youtube video EVER, titled "Coconut Mall glitch!!!!!")
Honestly though, I don't see why not to get a capture card. I always use it when i capture gameplay clips from games that refuse to allow me to record gameplay (like Smash Ultimate) and most decent ones aren't super expensive.
So maybe, consider getting a capture card?

This is not possible, you can't use the USB-C connector like that. The Switch Dock has it's own firmware, when the Switch is plugged in after it handshakes with the dock the USB port switches to an alternate mode where it's sending a DisplayPort signal through the USB cable. There's no current way of using this on the PC, and even if there was you'd still basically need a DisplayPort capture card. The other USB ports on the dock won't give you access to the video signal at all. You can't just use a PC like a monitor like that, at least not without a capture card.

That won't help OP's problem. It's still sending a video signal that OP would need a capture card to ingest. Also, those devices are basically third party docks, which have been known to cause bricks. Even if this would solve OP's problem, it's not really worth the risk.

The closest thing to solve OP's problem without a capture card would be SysDVR: https://github.com/exelix11/SysDVR

But it's clearly inferior to using an actual capture card.

Ok so from what I checked th process is kinda hard and i dont know if its possible with a non CFW switch.

In view of this, is there a guide to the capture cards available?

You can connect your switch to your computer and use an online tool like Acethinker Free Screen Recorder Online. This tool can record the screen in HD quality alongside the audio simultaneously. Also, it is for free and you can record without any time limit.
