anyway, i have some old official gameboy and gameboy colour, and gameboy advance games that i would like to backup the saved games from (mostly pokemon), how would i go about doing this? and what would i need to do it?

thanks in advance!

GBÂ would either require an action replay capable of doing it (not as are and the ones that do are very rare).
http://www.ziegler.desaign.de/readplus.htm also has some stuff on flashcarts and cables that could do it.
You are pretty much out of luck unless you can get hold of or make some rare hardware.

GBA on the other hand is a bit easier.
If you have a DLDI capable GBA cart Chism made an app:

If you have an older linker/cable based cart you could also dump the save with that.
Action replay devices can back up saves but again they are on the rare side.
Added to this some of the DS code save grabbers also have save grabbing capabilities.

Some of the tools designed to interface with the EZFlash 3 in 1 also can dump saves but I am unsure of their capabilities (e.g. can they only dump SRAM or can they do flash and EEPROM as well).
If all else fails I suppose there are the apps like pokesav but for the GBA iterations (I think there was a GBÂ version but I have no idea where to find that).
