Well, I don't know about you, but i'd be really screwed if I were to brick my wii, because I can't install bootmii as boot2. So I was wondering how to avoid bricking my wii, and how could I prepare myself so if i did brick my wii I could fix it... Currently I do nothing more than run usb backups and install a few channels now and then. (I'm looking into getting USB Game Channels)

I just really wanna be prepared if something like a brick were to happen...

Without having BootMii on boot2, the best you can do is use Preloader. BootMii via IOS is still nice, but its useless without Preloader.

If you want avoidance, common sense prevails. Don't install random channels or wads, and surely do not uninstall anything other than channels unless you're absolutely sure you know what you're doing. You'll read tons of threads here about people uninstalling IOS60 for the dumbest of reasons. USB Game Channels are fine assuming you made them yourself.

If you did happen to brick yourself, and can still access Preloader (this isn't a full brick) then you can simply step into HBC and reinstall the system. If you can NOT access Preloader, you're pretty much screwed unless you invest in an Infectus chip.

Actually, I'm getting A Collection of USB Channel WADS From Here

But anyways, Will Preloader work for 4.1 and if for some reason if I decide to update my, will my wii be bricked because of preloader?

YES! Preloader WILL work on 4.1!

Talk about a broken record!
