Recently, through wonder trade, people have been getting shiny-locked pokemon that should not be possible to send through.. how are people managing to send them? Here are a few examples:

Not sure about the Victini, but didn't shiny Diancie get officially released as an event? Like with gen 6, you can wondertrade event mons by simply removing the ribbon from them. (this requires homebrew/save decryption access of coarse since you have to use PkHeX to remove the ribbon). So nothing new going on here...

It's funny, because I attempted to do the same thing but without the ribbon too. No luck. Also notice the custom OT in both pictures. Interesting stuff.

I never tested the other mons, but shiny Celebi can definitely be link traded. I never got the Wonder Trading thing to work. I made a WIN2011 Celebi shiny, which is completely illegal, that was definitely shiny locked, but it traded over. I now want to think this implies that there will be future distributions of these long time shiny locked mons. After all, the legal checks are server based, so that means they deliberately made them no longer shiny locked, ahead of time for future distributions, or someone made a huge mistake and hackers are taking advantage of it.

Hacking the game Shiny locked Pokemon still have Shiny sprites in the game and those spirits are still accessible.

I can make that same file and not be able to send it via wonder trade, there's nothing special about it, just shinified and IVs maximized. For link trading, it works, I imported my own commonly used template file of Victini with the same general info and moves as that file, also trades. Shiny Meloetta can trade, Shiny Meloetta with Beast Ball, aw hell no. Yet the Gen 7 legends are still shiny locked and unable to trade.

Japan had a shiny Diance event, as for them going though wonder trade, the pokemon were hacked to be allowed though it!

I saw someone on youtube playing a wonderlocke, they received a Marshadow, which isn't wifi legal by any means. It was a while ago though.
