Gaming How save is it to run patched NTSC op PAL Wii

I always check the ISO's I download for updates using WiU 1.1. If there are updates I remove them using the same program.
Sometimes I find the downloaded ISO has been patched from NTSC to PAL. Normaly I throw these in the bin.
But how safe is it to use these patched games on my Wii (It's a PAL)

Its perfectly fine to play an NTSC game on a pal wii so long as there is no update. Either make sure that the update is removed using brickblocker or whatever, or use starfall which has a "skip disk update" option. You can't brick your wii by playing an NTSC game, only by updating wrong system files
