Are hackable Switches very scarce and hard to find in this day and age? I don't have the best variant in an iPatched Switch myself, but at least I should consider myself lucky for having a Switch that could be hacked at all.

They're not hard to find online especially as you can look for banned Switches (it's unlikely to get banned on a non-hackable Switch after all) so you don't even need to ask sellers for the serial number to know if a console is hackable.

This isn't buying/selling section if you want to sell something post there, don't show off that you got a day 1 switch, who care.

wow scalpertemp.net much?

What's the chance of finding an unused Switch that's hackable, though? I'm guessing close to 0%?

I found one a weekend ago on ebay that was brand new, bought for retail. They are out there, you just have to go through the effort and be patient.

I bought my little brother one of the original hackable switches. He hasn't played it in years so probably still hackable

It is possible but depends on your country. I don't recommend paying over retail for a V1 Switch, just get a Mariko one and modchip it for 100$

i havent really been following the switch scene at all for a couple years but last time i checked the switch I bought a couple years ago's serial in any serial checker it said patched, even though it wasn't. so I think there is even a small chance of finding a hackable one that's not too far out of the "possible" serial range which might open up more avenues if you are willing to risk it. it had some weird issues with some parts of CFW though and ctcaer was trying a bunch of stuff to make some part of hekate work but other than that it was running cfw fine

Highest possible Modable V1 unpatched Units for me:

XAW100817
XAW4001295
XAW7001329

Mine was XAW10109294 which still seems to say "patched" in the first serial checker result on Google

Yeah that should be a v1 patched.

Some pokemon edition switches were passed what was needed and were exploitable with rcm.

When I bought mine 2 months ago for 200$ with a case and a DKTF, I used only local to my country online marketplaces. You can basically look for a picture of the back of the device and if you see year 2016 or 2017 it's awesome guess that the machine is hackable. Asking for a Serial number for me is not the best option, because you are giving the seller a sign that maybe he is selling something more valuable. I bought mine from a person that was more concern that was selling old NS with battery that is at 70% capacity than that this was a hackable unit that is selling easily here for 450$. Mine was 2017 unit, but because we started to chat I casually asked him when did he bought it which is also a great sign if is patched or not. :)
