I was thinking about purchasing SX OS, But I since its the first product of its kind and switch hacking is still in its early stages I wanted to know how everyones experience is.

If everyone is having issues with crashing or anything I'd like to know before buying SX OS because I dont feel like paying for unstable stuff lol.

There are reviews on YouTube, is good and easy to use, the problem is the shipment ( I bought pro sx and still waiting) so buy the license.

Good so far. Simple drag and drop games in the root and play. I've only experienced two crashes so far. Although it is annoying having to use a computer for each boot until my SX Pro comes in, but the new Tegrasmashgui makes a lot more convenient. Just set up the payload in it, set auto inject, and set minimize to the taskbar. Then all I have to do is plug my switch in and it takes care of the rest.

Do you use Auto RCM? I am thinking about that so I dont need to use a jig everytime.

Yes, I originally hadn't planned on using it because I was a bit put off that it bricks the switch OS to achieve it, but I got fed up with constantly having to use a jig.

Yea I feel the same, but if we keep it in sleep mode we shouldnt have to boot it too much. Is there any issues caused by using auto rcm consistantly?

It doesn't brick the OS itself. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to use the OS at all. It bricks the bootrom so that your switch will panic and have no choice but to boot into recovery mode.

Gotcha. Unrelated: Your name seems familiar. xD
I come from the 3DS and wiiu scene that's probably why : p
I used to sometimes write guides and often help people set things up.

But anywho I have no doubts about sx os, especially since the devs said that a new update is in the works right now to address some issues like card2 game compatibility. I hope they fix games crashing, that doesn't sound promising. Perhaps its an SD card issue?

Would make sense. I've noticed SD cards are a bit finicky for console hacking. what is a "card2" game? Never heard the term.

Newer Switch games come as card2, where they change the way it works. Something about changing where the icon data is stored within the rom. I don't know the details but SX OS isnt compatible with card 2 games for now. Thankfully more than 90% of current games are card1 type. We'll have to believe in TX to work on that to fix it up. They seem dedicated enough to figure it out.

You can look here for a list of physical games and what card type they are towards the right hand side

Awesome thanks. So I heard SX OS / Xecuter assigns your license code to your consoles serial or some other information.
can they do anything negative with that sort of information or whatever?

It's been working great so far, using NXLoader (looks like I need to update to v0.3 that just came out) the payload.bin file on my Galaxy S8+ with a USB C to USB C cable. I don't even have to turn my phone on for it to inject the payload and boot SX OS. Tried Auto RCM to test and worked as expected, but going to use the Jig for the time being however I may consider using Auto RCM in the future. I actually like booting from my phone better than I think I would from the Dongle, phone is always with me and could change payloads on the go without having to reprogram the SX Pro (yes I know SX OS can boot homebrew, but I've seen lots of issues with that). Tried Mario Kart 8 .xci drag and drop, could not be easier.

Overall I'm glad I went the SX OS route vs the SX Pro as I would probably wind up just using my phone anyway with the Jig, and USB C cable that I had already had which I can fit in my game case, I know the SX Pro would not fit. Pretty much just different way to boot into the CFW, got access to it earlier than most Pro buyers. Bought my code from ModChipsDirect though there was a hiccup as I was not aware they use an overseas CC processor so I had to call my bank to let it go through. They did try to process my order in under 3 hours last night, today after clearing it with the bank they delivered my code in about 5 hours after contacting them to run my card again. Been a long time coming, but I'm very happy with it. Never even planed on buying a Switch till the exploit came out and realized how powerful this system could be with an unpatchable bug that gives us complete and full access to the hardware.

If you have an Android that doesn't have a USB C port you can get Micro USB OTG adapter and use your USB A to USB C cable. Otherwise PC it is then. Of course if you keep it charged and or docked it shouldn't be too bad. Only need to use your PC if you fully power it off.
