Hacking How is Hybrid mode?

I have some questions about how Hybrid mode works. Is it any good, and if some roms are patched with it do they not work at all. And does cheating acually work in games using hybrid mode.

If cheating works then I might pick this up then the 3-in-1 thing comes out.

I haven't bothered to use the hybrid patcher yet, so far everything I've tried has worked w/o it. I can tell you though that there is so far no cheat support built into it.
