Hacking How hard is it to install an E flasher on a fat PS3?

I've watched videos of it on YouTube.



But it still looks pretty tough to me. I don't know if I'd be comfortable doing it. Is this the only way to downgrade to 3.55 to install custom firmware?

Yes it's the only way if you are past 3.55 ... and your FAT model needs to be NOR model.
NAND FATs don't work with the E3 flasher ... for them you either need a ProgSkeet or a Teensy.

How do I check to see if it's NOR or NAND?
