So I always begin my posts with so, so I want to ask how does one make a SM3DL level without any Nintendo SDK because I hate those guys and I'm thankful that I'm finally free from that stupid NDA after I deleted my account
I don't want to derail this thread, but I do want to point out that you are still bound by the NDA even if you closed your account. You agreed to the NDA when you created the account, and breaching it now would still potentially carry a penalty.I'm finally free from that stupid NDA after I deleted my account
And how would one get free from that NDA?I don't want to derail this thread, but I do want to point out that you are still bound by the NDA even if you closed your account. You agreed to the NDA when you created the account, and breaching it now would still potentially carry a penalty.
I realise you've said you don't want to use any Nintendo SDK tools so you're fine of course, but just to be clear you are still bound by the NDA.
Anyways any tools I can use?I don't want to derail this thread, but I do want to point out that you are still bound by the NDA even if you closed your account. You agreed to the NDA when you created the account, and breaching it now would still potentially carry a penalty.

Die.And how would one get free from that NDA?
If there is already a ROM editor for that game, use it. Else, you'll have to reverse engineer the game, which is prohibited under the NDA.Anyways any tools I can use?
Found iitttt!!! The Fourth DimensionDie.

You can't. You agreed, by signing up, to a contract which requires you to make no disclosure whatsoever, to anybody, about the content of the SDK. Let's say I did the same thing, closed my account and then hosted the SDK on my web server. Nintendo would still be able to sue me for breach of NDA. The closure of my account with them has nothing to do with my acceptance of the NDA.And how would one get free from that NDA?
K then. Doesn't really matter as I wouldn't reverse engineer anything because I am an idiot. From my understanding I can still make homebrew under the NDA?You can't. Yes. You can even use SDK tools so long as no intellectual property gets distributed. Example: Using a hypothetical banner creation tool would be allowed. Using a hypothetical Nintendo compiler is not because it hypothetically includes binary blobs.K then. Doesn't really matter as I wouldn't reverse engineer anything because I am an idiot. Ahhh K I understand nowYes. You can even use SDK tools so long as no intellectual property gets distributed. Example: Using a hypothetical banner creation tool would be allowed. Using a hypothetical Nintendo compiler is not because it hypothetically includes binary blobs.
Sticking the word "hypothetical" into your sentence even though you're obviously talking about SDK tools is a legal grey area.
Are you sure about that? I was under the impression that the license agreement permitted software developed using the SDK to be distributed only in the eShop, and that distributing it as homebrew would constitute a breach of the agreement. Bear in mind that even compiled software contains parts of the SDK creator's IP (e.g. static functions which are included in the binary).Yes. As I said, it's legal as long as there's no binary blobs. Some of the tools can be used for homebrew, just not most of them. Are you sure about that? Uhhh how can I extract the RomFS from RomFS.bin? As I said, it's legal as long as there's no binary blobs. Some of the tools can be used for homebrew, just not most of them.
I get an error.... "
NVM I used braindump to dump my cart
What level editor do you use? The Fourth Dimension is too hard for me xD I won't release the hack anyways so if it is a SDK tool it doesn't matterI will make a video soon where I explain the basic things. Btw you check out my 3d land hack WIP.
Ahh K. I won't need any custom models xDI use the fourth dimension. It is very easy! I will show you all the basics when the video is ready.
The tools are as following:
Sketchup for basic modeling of custom models
NW4C if you want to export your custom model as a bcmdl for importing into SM 3D Land. 4D also has that option.

Also, could you finish the tutorial before the 30th? I leave for vacation on the 1stI use the fourth dimension. It is very easy! I will show you all the basics when the video is ready.
