ROM Hack How does FBI affect 2DS?

so I wanted to play some old GBA games and decided I wanted to use an emulator and I have a few questions.
Firstly can this be done on a 2DS?
If so what are the steps for this e.g using FBI?
If I do install FBI will I still be able to use the 2DS normally and access the Eshop and use 3DS cartridges and Eshop games without any issues?

FBI is just a homebrew app for installing CIAs (which are in turn just 3DS apps/"titles"). It won't affect how your console functions.
