Homebrew How do you make a Menu GUI?

I would like to make a menu GUI, there would be selections at the top and when you selected one something would pop up on the bottom screen (differs between selections). I would also like it to be able to scroll down for what I can't fit on screen, and I would like it to have buttons you can touch on the bottom one, how would I go about doing this? I need a easy to understand guide and what I need to do it.

I know how to do all that. I just don't know how to make a menu or GUI.
