    Title says all.

Couldn't find how to do this. I'm on FW8.1 and need to corrupt save data present on a Game Card. Something like a Game Card reader or a flashcart with this function would be great. Any pointers?

and keep trying :) don't give up, maybe it is not possible for it to work with every game, but try about 20 times before you give up i guess

I suppose you could use a R4i SaveDongle or similar USB dongle that can write 3DS game saves, and write a corrupted/incompatible save to it. But are you sure the game in question doesn't have a save reset feature?

    I'll try this next.

Already yanked out the game card more than 20 times while saving and still not getting it right. Talking about Professor Layton x Phoenix Wright...

You can simply start a new game and overwrite the old save file...

    my dad works for nintendo.
are you trying to delete the save data on it?
i dont understand the reason why you want to corrupt the data...

the game should have a button combination to delete all the save data at the start screen, just look on the manual or google for the right combination

    Not if it's like RE:Mercs.

Anw just pull it when it's saving. Will not work with games that have save redundancy though.

And you should just google the game in question if it's that easy. C'mon I wouldn't start a thread if what you said was true for a Professor Layton game (including PL vs PW).

I'll get a SaveDongle and try that. Overwriting a save with a new game is NOT a solution.

read the manual to see if there is a button combo(and when to press it) for deleting the card's save data

some game you can do it , but there are many that do not have the ability to do it

For what reason do you need to have a completely blank save with nothing on it, not even a new save? I can't imagine a scenario where that would be required.

sorry, no need for be rude :C

if you have a old ds or ds lite with flashcart, you can use a homebrew instead a save dongle, however you need to either cut the thing which prevents you to put the card on the ds, or you need to open the ds and MOD it so it fits..
but yeah, savedongle would be better idea, so you leave your card intact for sell it or keep it "vanilla"...

You don't need to imagine one.

And migles sorry I didn't intend to come off as rude. Your idea by using an old DS intriguing. Too bad I'd have to modify the cart which for my purposes is absolutely no go. :/

im intrigued what is the need of it being completely blank....the only thing i can possible think of is trying to pass the game off as brand new to either return it to a store or resell it online as new

I never said I wanted to pass off the game as new or have empty save slots, have I... :) There's a specific reason why I must corrupt, not erase the game card.

easiest/not easiest way depending on if you have the required thing, the game uses 6.x save encryption you can play it in classic mode on a 4.x hacked 3ds and it will be corrupt to a retail updated console the other way around.

also i didnt say you said that, i said that's the only logical reason i could think of for just starting a new save not being good enough

I'm assuming this game uses save redundancy (because there really aren't much to save in a game like this), in which case just pulling it out is impossible to corrupt it.
Other solutions I've heard of so far only deletes the save, not edit it.

So your best bet is this:

or find a tool that allows you to edit the save data.

Did you borrow a family/friend's game cart and screwed up his save? Now you have no choice but to corrupt the game save so that he/she would think it's just bad luck?
