I have this issue with my New 3ds XL where I needed to replace the motherboard and so I did, I was able to get the console to power on but only the bottom display was visible. I went back in and notice I put the lcd ribbon cable upside down. After that I put everything back together properly and all I get is a black screen on both sides with a blue light. My hypothesis is that along the way one the cables went bad or broke, how should I be able to tell which one so I can replace it? I have tried everything in the book so anything helps
How do I know which Ribbon cables to replace?
