My Joy-Cons have started drifting and I'd prefer hall effect sticks as replacements but do they feel identical to standard sticks? I'm hoping to avoid buying a new pair [don't want a replacement from Miyamoto for reasons].

Some don't like the analog grip over the Nintendo analog grip. If you're wanting to stay within the confines of the Ninty joycons, then try out the gulikit for yourself. If you're open to other suggestions, I'd suggest third-party like mobapad joycons... I love mine over the N joycons. Has all features of OEM including NFC! Ergonomic for my large hands as well.

They're not as good as stock.

1. The removable cap is fucking annoying. I always super glued it
2. Some homebrew hates it since it's more sensitive.
3. It takes a little more effort to move it
4. If you move it in a cardinal direction, it doesn't exactly move that way, which is annoying. Like if I move it diagonally to the right, it will be off by a few degrees even after calibrating
