I was wondering if there was a guide that could help me get started writing DS homebrew - a sort of "Homebrew for Dummies." I admit that my programming experience is limited, but I have a slightly-more-than-basic understanding of BASIC and Java, and I'm learning Perl, so if there's a particular language(s) that might prove better it's not a problem because I learn fairly quickly.

Thanks in advance for the help.

The tutorial is far from complete, but the beginning is very informative. It tells you what kind of system you're dealing with (if you've programmed really old computers, you'd be familiar with referencing specific sections of memory, which is what you'll be doing here).

I think the best way to learn is to try to do something, and then research how to do it. It's hard to just look up random information.
