Gaming Homebrew to increase battery life?

I don't think this would be possible, but I want my 3ds to last for longer than 3 hours. I miss the days of the GBA or DS where you had to charge it about once a week. I have tried to turn off WiFi, put the console at 1 brightness with Power Saving mode on, etc. but it gives no substantial increase. I know this is most likely an overestimation of the capability of homebrew, but it's worth a try.

With newest Luma3DS the Rosalina menu has a new brightness feature from max to 0 brightness give that a try
 
I'm not sure if this works, but you can lower the backlight using NTR CFW version 3.6. It gave me an extra hour longer than usual gameplay without it. If it doesn't NTR CFW is still useful to have.

Only if your on 9.2 3ds fw or lower
