Here's a complete package for MFE Wii (cpmtaoms icon, xml, elf).
I'm using the banner by tryolivier in wiigen.fr, this one:

Haven't tested it yet though, will test it right now.

edit: Works perfectly.
It doesn't work for me says something with joystick not found /dev/jy0
Well something like that
Connect a GC controller and try again

edit: Great job in your post, SKH! Now it's actually organized

I've read most of the things concerning the Homebrew Channel. But I don't really get why I would want to run e.g. the SNES and NES emulators via this new homebrew channel instead of using the (wad installed) channel emulators I already have.
Is there anybody who can tell me why I should be using this method? Or is there no difference at all?

There is no real difference. You won't need a channel of each homebrew with the homebrew channel though, and it will take less space on the Wii flash memmory (as the homebrew channel is really small and reads from the SD card). Also, I imagine updating using the SD card is easier, and you don't depend on Paradox who will need to make a new wad if a new elf is already out.

Well, other than you save up blocks by using the apps from the SD card, and in the Message Board log it will say everytime "Homebrew Channel" instead of for example GameBoy Channel, now, nothing.

But when new versions come out of these apps, then it'll be definitely better to use from the Homebrew Channel because it's faster to update the app.

But maybe PaRaDoX updates his Channels, too.

EDIT: maikelsteneker, you was faster!

Thanks SkH. I sure looks awesome and I can see that just one channel for all our homebrew needs is very handy. Anyway, it's great that all of this is possible without the use of a modchip.

Caus if you tried Tetris, you see there's an option to return to the HBC, If all homebrew supports this, there's no need in rebooting your Wii to go back to the Wii GUI
Just return to the HBC then return to your Wii GUI (ok it does a reboot, but there's no need for you to interact anymore with the power button)

It's better then the return to TW hack option some homebrew has now.

I just tried a WAD installer to install the homebrew channel. I tried Tetris first. I get the loading bar and then....nothing. After that I tried every application but all hang at the loading bar.

What am I doing wrong?

Oh and I can't go back to the Wii Menu (black screen)

Please help

And apparently my first app to start was Tetris, too...

though it hanged/froze at 0%.

I just threw together one for the Duplicate channel remover. I had to use "Dupe" instead of "duplicate" cause the was too long. PMed it to SkH

All 3 regions included.
Temp: http://qshare.com/get/207379/DupeChanRemov.zip.html

EDIT:
So I just did a little test on the shorter fields and the max characters/spaces/etc for each field are as follows:

I get
QUOTEError in count on line 63.
./wad_un_installer.zip is already defined.
It always says 'wad un installer' in the error no matter which you click
