This is a homebrew program for the Wii. It is something
like preloader, but instead of the System Menu, Hijill is for patching
the Homebrew Channel (v1.0.8). Some of the patches included allow
you to use a different banner, a custom translation file, remove
the watermark, change the tid, force aspect ratio, and disable the network.

Finally, thank you so much :D

I wonder where the name Hijill comes from.

Why the big bold letters "and disable the network."?
I don't see whats so good about this?

This is really great work by giantpune! I'm guessing that by "removing the watermark" you could install hbc 1.0.8 on an emu nand?

If so that is fantastic news. I've used other loaders on emu nands in the past (homebrew filter, postloader) but I've always been partial to the HBC and it would be nice to use it with my emu nands & neek2o.

I would assume that remove watermark does what it says. Removes the watermark in the bottom corner that says "the Homebrew Channel". I don't see how this would allow it to be installed on emu nands, but one of the other patches might.

You can do your own haxxoring and add your own patches. The best patch wins a prize.
Lets see what some of you kick ass people can come up with.

My wishlist:
  • Direct launching of gamecube homebrew binaries (cMIOS support)
  • xNEEK support
  • Choose which IOS to use
  • Custom music support
  • Built-in sysCheck application (is that even doable with patches?)
  • Built-in warez launcher (just kidding)

You can actually use this to dump the HBC elf. If you apply the patches from RemoveAntiHaxx() in worker/source/patches.c, you get a hbc.elf that's bootable everywhere - in SNEEK, with a cIOS, even from a PPC side exploit (letterbomb etc) without installing anything.

Of course, there's no chance that I'm going to share it because of copyright issues. But it's not that hard.

Does it load up quickly or is there still a delay like there is when launching 1.07 in sneek

forcing the aspect ratio to widescreen makes it show more buttons on the screen. something like 20 instead of 15. thats why i came up with that one. you can force the hbc to show more buttons while everything else displays 4:3.

and before anybody does what snikerz mentioned, you may want to do something to keep it from creating its save file. if you start this from a save exploit, it will create its own save data in that same folder. I would look at, or in the general direction of, 81358434, 81363374, and 8135EFA4 to start with.

Oh, I didn't think you would want anything else to display in 4.3, but if you did I can see why that would be helpful.

I think it might be because of the network bug when installing ios236 when no network is present.

My Wii is not allowed to access my network connection, but i couldn't reproduce the issue with Dr Clipper's IOS236 installer. To me this sounds like an issue with a network connection setup, but the network being unavailable. But i did not really follow the issue, so i can't say anything for sure.

This should definitely be front paged. Currently I am figuring out how the source works. Perhaps someone wants to write a tutorial for dummies or even a GUI for windows noobs.

Code:
// the update request contains info about if the channel has been haxxored or not
//! if any of the contents has an incorrect sha1, the tmd xtea signature doesn't match, or the chonnel is started using the wrong IOS,
//! it will be known. but it isn't specific - every door triggers the bomb
void Patch_PhoneHomeInfo();

Thanks for the info, I knew it that the homebrew channel also sends something else than ip addresses to team twizers. Once I've figured out how this works, I'll make my own enhanced homebrew channel :D

oh ya, like sending information like if the HBC is patched or changed is dangerous information!

...little fyi, priiloader is the same on that. dacotaco has information if the priiloader app or stuff like that is changed
