So, this NAND is from before you installed MDK2? And you still have the problem?

Wow...

Exactly!

That's my major issue. Go and watch my YouTube video that I posted a few post ago, if you want a visual idea of the problem. This is why I'm wondering if the issue is separate of the ios files. Also, I have another question. Does a disconnected disc drive give off the same type of error. The ribbon cable connected between the drive and motherboard is connected by tape (due to an incident a few months ago while replacing the lens. Would that cable be the problem? I havent moved the Wii in weeks so I cant see it being an issue but who knows. The drive is taking in disc like normal so yeah, it's all confusing.

You could have mentioned that earlier.

Try WiiXplorer.

OK I'm grabbing the app but what would you like for me to do with it?
QUOTE(JoostinOnline @ May 19 2011, 05:41 PM)
Use WiiXplorer and see if you can browse the MH3 disc. If you can't, I say it's the disc drive.
Use the one I linked to.

You might be right. Nothing is showing up on the disc drive. I'm going to give DVD loading a go in WiiMC and if that doesnt work then it has to be the Disc drive. Wish me luck.

How can you forget to mention something like that! U r a pain in the butt u know that? jeez! U have all these ppl running around trying to help u. Poor Joostin prolly went over his internet usage limit for the month downloading ur nand dump, and u forget to mention something so obviously important! Common! I think next time some1 reports a semi-brick the first thing I should do is ask if their Wii is being held together by tape, lol.

Is there anything else u want to share with the rest of the class?

I still hope ur Wii gets fixed, but seriously, I also hope ur learning a thing or 2 about how to ask for help and how to properly report on an issue.

Thank you, thank you THANK YOU, to everyone who was and has been patient with me while helping me out in this pickle.

My Wii is fixed now! It was my disc drive. Actually now, that I fixed the issue I was wondering something else. Is it possible for a code to be written what allows a bypass of the disc drive check? I have my External DVD Drive when things go wrong and I know a lot of people around these parts are fans of USB loading so having a disc drive check seems fairly stupid. I know it makes a lot of sense from Nintendo's POV when it comes to legit customers but I think a drive bypass code might be something that should be looked into. What do you guys think?

K, I just finished downloading and extracting it. I took a screenshot of ShowMiiNand (actually it's two, but I put them together so you can see it all at once) and uploaded it. That way everyone can see what he has on his Wii without dling a huge file:
Click here if you want to download the original png.

Going back to the PNG included in this quote, does anyone see anything that might prevent me from playing Monster Hunter 3? Through the Disc Channel I get a DRE, through USB-DVD (in U-Loader) the game freezes when I select "Begin the game" also through NeoGamma I get the same problem.

i think any english teacher who sees xflak's post will off themselves immediately.

still, congrats on the wii fix.
*laugh out loud*
Yes my typing can be pretty disastrous on the internetz, but I pride myself on my ability to switch on and off my mental spelling\grammar checker

In my line of work, if I turned in report saying "u" instead of "you"... well, lets just say I wouldn't be employed very long
lol

Don't feel bad, being wrong all the time is just part of being Canadian. It's not a choice, you were born that way!

After a few hours of testing I now have another issue. A few games wont load and some even freeze. I tried doing another install of DarkCorp and it stops at 70% I even try to uninstall DarkCorp and that stopped and reset my system at 70%. Any ideas what could be the issue?

Hmmm... Disc drive clip all that time.

Well, maybe buying a new Wii/drive will fix it?

Regardless of your grammar, that's a really good idea!

@LightyKD,
How about u just install cIOS249 d2x v4 base 56, and use neogamma. Why must u mess around with darkcorp? Speaking of darkcorp, make sure ur using the fixed installer, either v1.1 was the fix for 1.0... or there was a 2nd release of v1.1 with a bugs fixed just in the installer... can't remember which.

But of course it's always a possibility BBking83 is right and that the cheap scotch tape holding your Wii together is failing and causing all your problems... stupid ninty, I hope they upgrade to duct tape when constructing the Wii 2, lol

PS. anyone ever tell you that u look like this guy from House?
edi-gathegi-house-character.jpg

@BBking83,
seriously, I'm gonna start asking that question, it's gonna catch on, you'll see, lol

PS. Your name brings Burger King to mind... quit making me hungry

@Joostin,
meh, say what u want about Canadians, but at least we didn't elect Bush Jr... twice, lol. Seriously, just youtube him for 5 minutes and for a second try to forget that he was ever president... and just imagine... how the hell you guys elected him not once... but TWICE! That being said, I love Americans, there's no1 else I'd rather have as a neighbour... and yes, neighbour is spelled with a "u", silly Americans always thinking you know how to spell, pshh, I'm smarter than my PCs spell checker... u know why? Cuz I'm Canadian
biggrin.gif
. Anyways, I think if I tease you Americans any more like this others may take it the wrong way, so let's keep our patriotic jokes to our PMs, lol

1) Please link me to this "cIOS249 d2x v4 base 56" you speak of. Thank you
smile.gif

2) I'm using the Darkcorp 1.1 installer but if there's a better version of the installer, I could try that.

3) Funny House joke but I look a bit different now. More like this...

Here, or just download from ModMii's download page 4

This sounds like a job for Joostin, u know if there were 2 versions of the v1.1 Installer? ANyways, either way, darkcorp is generally frowned upon, just use cIOS and neogamma, or better yet a usb-loader

OK, so I went and grabbed the "cIOS249 d2x v4 base 56" program and I was able to install but I STILL get the same problems with Monster Hunter 3. Whenever I click "Begin The Game" through Neogamma and ULoader (using USB DVD) I get a black screen freeze (with the infamous game freeze noise). Even worse, attempting to load the game through the Disc Channel gives me a DRE. Furthermore, if I attempt to load Conduit 2 through the Disc Channel, I get a black screen but I can play through Neogamma and ULoader. Is there something I'm missing?

quit trying to launch games from the disc channel. When u tell us you tried this disc, u have to tell us if its an original or a backup disc.

Seriously, do us all a favour and look into usb-loading, its far superior and will be less of a headache for everyone

1) It's a backup disc

2) I'm pretty sure it's an IOS issue so I doubt loading the game through USB would change much, especially since Ive already tried USB-DVD

3) I like my collection of disc. -and when I say collection I mean collection! I have 2 copies of each game (play & shelf). The shelf copies are nicely kept with boxarts and disc labels and it's fun watching the looks on my guest faces when they come into my apartment and have an instant "gamer-gasm"

what base is in 249?

IIRC correctly MHT needs a [56] or [37] to run properly....(at least from USB; don't know if the same holds true for discs launched on cIOS)

wait a minute...didn't you just do a Modmii update within the last few days? why are you on 249v20 and not v21d2x3 or v21d2xv4 then? ...modmii should have given you 249[56]v21d2xv4 and 250[57]v21d2xv4
