I am attempting to update all my IOSes and things on my Wii which was hacked in... 2016, I think. I've been having trouble with various homebrews and at this point it's easier to just update everything rather than find which IOS might be the problem.
First thing on the ModMii-generated guide is to install a patched IOS36 (IOS236?). Both Simple IOS Patcher and IOS236 Installer give an error saying "Could not open file: sd:/IOS36-64-v3351.wad" and "Could not open file: sd:/IOS36-64-v3351.wad.cut.wad". The version of IOS36 that ModMii placed in my wad folder is IOS036-64-v3608. Why do both programs say I need an earlier version? And why would ModMii give me a newer version when I need v3351 specifically? I don't get it.
That's just the first problem. I'll probably have more questions to ask once we get through this one.

I copied all the ones that were in the COPY-TO-SD folder to the proper places in my SD card. There is a IOS36-64-v3351.wad in the ModMii root folder, but it's not in the COPY-TO-SD folder. Am I supposed to understand that I was meant to put that one in my sd card root? If so, then what's the point of putting another version of the same wad in the wad folder? What purpose does the IOS36-64-v3608 I have in my wad folder serve?

It should be saved to the root of the copy to SD folder.

The older version is saved to the root of the SD to install a custom ios to slot 236. The custom ios was built using an older version of ios36, but you still want the latest version installed to slot 36 (hence why it's saved to the wad folder) as it may be needed for some games to run that use ios36 and require the latest version

I'm posting both of these so you can tell me if there's anything I should watch out for. Obviously, the ModMii guide is written from the perspective of helping someone mod their Wii for the first time, so I worry I might do something wrong. Should I just install all the wads as ModMii says I should? Or are there any caveats?

Okay, so out of the 52 wads, 40 did not complete installation. And even though I have a wiiflow folder inside my apps folder, the forwarder channel didn't work either.

Make sure ios236 is loaded by MMM or whatever wad manager you're using. Modmii should have built a config file for it to be autoloader at startup but who knows maybe it didn't get copied over

...

If a non-fakesigned stick ios is loaded it can only install stock wads, and they must be a greater version than currently installed, so this it why I think only 12 of the wads installed
...
Try loading your current ios 236 or 248,249 etc and see if the wads will install then

I found the config file, it was in the root ModMii folder along with IOS36, for some reason. I'll have to try again tomorrow.

WADs still didn't install, even though I used the proper config file. How do I make sure IOS236 has really been loaded? Is there a way to check?

Had to manually switch the IOS in the menu. The config file didn't work. It was working IOS58 according to the menu, for some reason. But it's working now, thank god.
