Do you have a pre LU64 Wii? If so just download an old version of IOS36 with NUSD and install it with wadmanager.

Can you tell me which tutorial you were following?
Doesn't the TBR process you described in the post patch IOS36?
Why do you need to do it again to install preloader?

I have a 4.1U virgin and am about to start softmodding.

Hi Slowking, my Serial number starts with LEH2 so It's not pre LU64

Sure thing, I was looking at a few tutorials but decided to follow the ones on here coz the guys really know what they're talking about.

Folow this link here:

and go to where it says "3.X - 4.1 Method" and follow the instructions there.

It's not that I have to do it again, for some reason my IOS36 won't patch but it needs to be patched to run preloader.

Have a search around the forums. You'll learn a lot. Best not to ask a noob like me for the info coz these guys have a lot more knowledge and have made numerous articles and guides about all things Wii

Try at the start of the Wii Hacking forum. There are some stickies for people like you and me who are just starting out. Could save you a bricked Wii!!!

Don't know what changed. Maybe because I managed to get CIOS38 rev14 installed but tried again and managed to patch IOS36 using the Trucha Bug Restorer mod. Great stuff guys, thanks!

Now do I wait for someone to compile a working copy of Preloader 0.30 so I can use my SDHC card....Hmmm, maybe I'll wait and see if there's something out tomorrow. Time to get on the voddie!!!
