ROM Hack Help with "The file is too big" error in EZ-Flash Omega

Hi there! Forgive me for any mistakes as this is my first thread.

So I'm trying to play Pokemon Adventures Red Chapter on my SP with an EZ-Flash Omega that I just received, but I keep getting an error saying that the file is too big. Now the ROM is on the large side being 32MB, but I currently have other 32MB romhacks on my Omega that manage to run without any errors. A quick google search led me to a post on Reddit that suggests writing the ROM to NORflash but I get the same error when trying to do so.
I've attached an image for those who might be curious. I'm also running Sterophonick's Simple kernel, if it matters.

I've tried looking for more information on the error but I can't seem to find any. Any help would be much appreciated!

Perhaps the patch is making the file slightly over 32MB. You should try to use various trimming tools in order to trim it to exactly 33,554,432 bytes in size.

Thanks for the advice! The patched ROM is indeed about 1KB larger than supposed to be. I tried trimming it with both GBA Tool Advance and NDSTokyoTrim and it doesn't make a difference in size (according to the log for NDSTT the ROM has already been trimmed). Apparently, some emulators don't seem to work well with the latest version of the ROMhack and I suspect it might have something to do with the size.

That doesn't seem to be very much. You can use a hex editor such as HxD to trim the file so that it ends at address 0x1FFFFFF. It shouldn't take too much time and is relatively easy to do.

It's my first time using a hex editor and I couldn't find any address named specifically 0x1FFFFFF, but I did delete the stuff after address 0xFFFFF0 and the ROM appears to work fine. In any case, thanks for all the help and also a big thank you for your custom kernel!

Hi Im a noob at these programming stuff. I'm having the same problem with my EZ Flash thingy so can you please share the pokemon adventure file with me as well ._. I don't how to use hex thingy tool

and if you type in "Pokemon Red chapter latest version" you will find it. So, I have downloaded the game on my EZ Flash and it says the file is too big when i try to play it. I wish I can trim it using the hex tool, like that guy used but I have no clue what i'm doing and its just too complicated.

Oh wait, I just found out you are that guy who's guide I was following and looking at! Basically, for the EZ FLASH, I have installed your thing into my memreoy card and when I try to open the emulators like MSXAdvance (.rom) it says there's no bios or whatever and screen goes blue. and this other one called ".col - ColecoVision ROM (Requires Cologne)" I have also downloaded (i think) the Colonge thingy and used this tool to merge a blank file with the bios or whateverish its called and placed that within the plug folder and then I went back to my gameby and went to open these emulators up called ".col" and ".rom" but nothing happens. .col freezes and .rom just gives me a blue scren.

I'm having trouble with the Pokemon Red Chapter, the file is too big to be played also I'm quite literally a dummy at programming. Meaning, earlier you told the OG post user to trim the file down and these other stuff but I just tried doing that now but I made the game crashed and I think I removed some major files. Is there any way possible that you can help me with this? I have no idea what I'm doing or removing. I'm going to have to wait for the OG post user to dash in his file so I can play it :/ wonder how long that's going to take?

No need; as per my older reply I did in fact manage to trim the rom and get it working on a regular Omega.

I repatched and trimmed it with the newest version of the romhack (Beta15). I also added the RTC patch since it's not included with the base patch for some odd reason. I'm not sure how to make an ips patch, but I'll PM you.

Hey there! I wanted to try trimming the file to make it compatible with my EZ Flash as well, but I'm honestly have no idea how to use the HxD app. Would you be able to help me as well? And by that I mean, how do I go about finding 0x1FFFFFF?
