Hacking Help with R4i!!!

Hello,

I need help with the R4i.

I am getting one for my birthday in 2 weeks, but I don't know anything about it.

I know you can have games on it and I have already got some ROMs downloaded, but I don't know what else you are supposed to do with it.

If anyone can help me please either reply or pm me!

Remember all I need is info on what to do with it.

Proptip: Don't get an R4, or any variation of it with any suffix or prefix.

If you have a DSi, get an Acekard 2i, M3i Zero, Supercard DSOnei, or any other of the "i" cards, but not an R4i.

If you have a DS/DS Lite, get an Acekard 2, Cyclo DS or M3 Real

It's a clone based on an old flashcard that doesn't get firmware upgrades anymore, has a large number of bugs and has a lot of problems overall, especially since what you're buying isn't even an original product, it isn't worth the money.

Get a real flashcard, because when you start posting topics about how to get things to work on your R4, nobody is going to help you.


An Acekard 2i is about $13 on DealExtreme, you can get a 4GB MicroSD from there also for $11.

This is what happens when people come late too the world of flashcards. There was once a time when the R4 was well doing quite well (well sort of). But then came along all the clones, R4i, R4Ultra, R4Pro, R4something, there are just too many to remember; the card in general is complete garbage, some games don't work, cheats are all over the place etc etc. Just stay away from anything that has R4 in it. For the DSi, check out the Acekard2i, M3i Zero, those cards have a great future.

not to derail this thread further but, why dont people especially noobsdo their research before buying? i swear to kami, we reseach if we pick colleges or go out to buy cars so why cant we do it for flashcarts. everytime some poor idiot has a problem with the r4 they come here crying for help buy i swear, if people did their research first then they wouldnt be exposed for being gullible idiots

Way to flip out over barely anything, he was just wondering about how to USE a flash cart. The question he asked could be applied to any flash cart, but just because he happened to mention an R4i you go off on a wild tangent about him being a poor, gullible idiot.
