Hacking Help with R4 card

Unfortunately, you are in a tricky situation: you have to try various software to see which one works, but with the ever lurking risk of bricking your flashcart.
Where you bought it, wasn't there a link to its firmware or an indication of which version should be used?

Nah, no link. It came from a pretty no-name Ebay seller, and I don't even know which specific listing it was.

Might be worth hunting down a smaller mSD card (like a 2GB one) and formatting it to FAT32 with something like this. Then chuck the uncompressed contents at the root.

Alternatively, you could give this one a shot.

I highly doubt that the cart itself has been bricked by your previous attempts to get it to work since we aren't flashing any firmware, not that this cart has the ability to afaik.

Should those still not work, you could remove the screw from the back and send us a pic of the PCB since there is a chance someone here might just recognise which obscure clone variant it is.

Finally, it's working now! I actually got this as a gift for my younger sister, so hopefully she gets something out of it and enjoys it.
(Also I get to force her into liking the same crap I do, that being Sonic and old Square RPGs lmao)

Lad, Is this perhaps your flashcart?

Does the bomberman icon appear in the DS menu? If this is it, in any case it has a "time bomb" (that would be to say that after a certain period It will softlock), but you can try YSMenu:

Wood R4 successfully boots, and I can now load and play ROMs. (idk is this too vague?)
