I'm trying to enable some system menu hacks but when I go to load hacks it says none are there. I'm not exactly sure what it wants me to do but I found this text file on the internet with the hacks. I tried naming it hacks_has.ini or hack_hash.ini whatever it was, on my flashdrive but it isn't seeing it still?

Suggest you read this:
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Priiloader

Edit:
You can also get the link from there as well to download it which I used in the past.

I got priiloader already and I don't see the files it's asking for still. I got the one off the website but I don't recognize a "hacks" file I need or whatever it is it requested.

Extentions seem to be hidden. Try to remove the .ini

I did it's still not working. I just put hacks_hash but as I said it's a txt file not an ini file. Can someone please just give me the link to the proper .ini file.

I found it but it says it's for 4.1 and 4.2 and when I tried to get the files anyway it said it was on a private server or something. I found this link: https://gbatemp.net/threads/priiloader-hacks_hash-ini-not-found.327610/ but i'm not sure how outdated that ini file download is because the post was from 2012 and it may not be a good idea to download it..

yeah I found 4.3.

"Warning: This file type may contain malicious code. By executing it, your system may be compromised."

uh...?

It's likely there because it's a zip file on a wiki and they're covering themselves. I ran it through my AV and it was fine.

ok I got the proper ini file but now it says "failed to mount FAT device can't find hacks_hash.ini on NAND"

EDIT: Seems to work now with my SD card inserted. Not sure why it can't just read it off my flashdrive though.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
