I did burn at 4X as that is the only speed supported by both the discs and the drives I tried.... also, now SWISS won't boot anymore for me at all, just hangs on a black screen after the action replay screen...

Thank you.:)

Unfortunately,to say "Try other DVD-Rs" is also not a Solution.
Apart from this,Verbatims are near impossible to get,Memorex or "maybe" TDK without knowing they are RITEK ones....
Getting suitable and working mini DVD-Rs is really hard to day and a "Gambling"...
Also, when you said, they worked before,it is a pretty sure Sign that the GameCube Laser needs adjustement. But it can be also a Sign of an upcoming End...as mentioned, please note the Age of the Drive.

You have thankfully more Options today.

- A Xeno ModChip, cheap and reliable, needs Solder Skills and of course opening the GameCube.
- If you want to stay on the GameCube without soldering/modding,the Laser Adjustement is really an Option (50% Chance),please consider it.
- If Money is not the Matter, you can get an Drive Replacement.
- If Money matters, for the SD2SP2 Solution you need for Example the Action Replay Disc, maybe your Drive can still boot Original Discs so this will also work for you.
- A softmodded Wii (with GameCube Ports) is always an Option for GameCube playing. Not really expensive (with Equipment around 75 CAD).
- A softmodded Wii U also, but costs more and you also need an Gamecube Controller Adapter.

Thank you.:)

Hi I can run games off legit discs or sd2sp2 once again but still no luck with burned discs... is there a way to adjust the lazer without opening the cube?

No.:(
The Potentiometer Screw on the Mainboard needs to manually adjusted.
Like on the most Optical Drives with an Laser (PlayStation 1/2,XBox,Dreamcast,PC Drives...)

Thank you.:)

I could have sworn I read that if you can get into SWISS you should be able to boot disc backups without a pot adjustment... I can get into SWISS via Action Replay (slot-2 sd with uncompressed) or Agent Under Fire (slot-1 mem card with compressed swiss) discs now
