I've recently downloaded visual boy advance and put it on my wii along with 3 games and each of them has some sort of lag, especially megaman zero. is it just that the emulator is like that or is it something to do with my wii/SD card?
VBAGX has always been slow, among other problems. You should try mGBA it's many times faster and has sharper scaling than VBA.
Not risky.Kind of unrelated but is it risky to install forwarders for homebrew and have them on the system menu? i'm currently running snes9xgx, vbagx, usbloadergx and nintendont all from the HBC.
Also, what is the best NES emulator for the wii? I imagine the wii can't really emulate n64/psx all that well so i'm skipping those.
VBAGX is not optimized for GBA. Just use mGBA, it runs pretty much perfect.I've recently downloaded visual boy advance and put it on my wii along with 3 games and each of them has some sort of lag, especially megaman zero. is it just that the emulator is like that or is it something to do with my wii/SD card?
- Game Boy and Game Boy color works perfectly. As others have stated, there's literally no good reason to use VBAGX anymore. Get the latest nightly of mGBA and all your problems will be solved.
- Game Boy and Game Boy color works perfectly.
- Super Game Boy support.
- Super Game Boy 2 support.
- Choosing a specific Game Boy machine for the emulation.
- Custom frames.
No, mGBA is not yet the end-all app, maybe someday in the future. But! For Game Boy Advance games, it is indubitably the best.

N64 ROM injection is possible, so N64 emulation is perfect if you do it that way.I imagine the wii can't really emulate n64/psx all that well so i'm skipping those.
there's literally no good reason to use VBAGX anymoreMother 3 and Golden Sun don't even run 60 fps without stuttering. Iridion 2 stutters like no tomorrow, the emulator uses frameskipping. For those features, yes, VBAGX is superior, but for speed, it's not as good as mGBA.
Heck, the Final Fantasy Advance 5 and 6 don't even run full speed, just saying. For those other features you mentioned though, I agree, it is better.
It is more about compatibility and the ability to switch machines. They should run the same speed-wise, though right now mGBA may have some tiny problems with specific GB/GBC games, i have seen it before.Fair enough, I should have referred specifically to GBA emulation. Is the performance of GB/GBC games superior in VBAGX?

He's talking about N64 VC injection. Not all games work with this method and the ones that do, are already floating on the internet, so right now there's nothing new under the sun.How would i go about injecting these? also, do these titles install to NAND or SD? The NAND is unbelievably small. Would i need a .wad installer? what do you recommend?
Does mGBA have a forwarder? or must it be launched from HBC Launcher first?
I have not personally done this, but it would not hurt to back up your saves and test. Are mGBA and VBAGX saves compatible? Thinking of switching, but I don't want to lose all my progress.
