ROM Hack Help solving sims 3 problem.

I recently installed a Sims 3 cia and when I try to play the game all the characters are question marks.
I tried to install another cia but same results.
I am currently trying to play it in Luma3ds+a9lh on a region changed japanese n3ds

Please explain better "region changed" (just secureinfo_A? actually installed a foreign OS afterwards? with or without (also) using language spoofing?) -- or did you change the font with another that doesn't have the correct characters?
