I'd hit up link270 if he's willing to help you, people don't get rep if nobody is willing to give them that chance in the beginning. I modded my own, but I am also a technician so this stuff was lulz for me =/

No rep, photos of work, and is offering a paid service for free are all red flags if he wants to establish himself make someone pay and show examples of his work first.

I'm offering a paid service for free only if it doesn't work, meaning that I mess up or something, basically my way of saying, I'm not a pro and there's a chance I might make a mistake, and if I do then I'm not going to charge you. I work at a computer repair shop and that is something we do there as well. For example, if we find an issue with someone's computer and they don't want it repaired, then we charge a discounted diagnostic fee of sorts. If we aren't able to find an issue with a computer then we don't charge anything. I'm basically just applying these same practices here. I feel like it would be unfair for me to offer to do it at a price, when I don't have proof of pictures, etc. and people don't have to trust me, and I fully understand why they wouldn't, that's why I said it the way I did. :)

Anyways, I would still be happy to help, this offer can go to anyone if they'd like to message me, and I'd be happy to supply any information needed to the user, or set the payments up in like an eBay or Paypal type manner, with a money back promise of sorts.

Thanks!

I don't know what the "pros" charge but there is definitely some materials involved (wires/headers/sd to micro sd adapter/specific usb to sd adapter) not to mention solder shrink tube etc. So likely $30 in materials. They also have to have good soldering abilities because a screw up could be more than a software brick, so I get where the reputation idea comes in. That being said @link270 some pictures of a mod you have done would go a long way showing your skill. There is also a huge responsibility to take care of someone else's system and a level of trust involved for both (what if they really dropped it in water, and blame the modder for busting it).

I know you mean well, but if you get this much resistance here chances are it's not worth the hassle for you.

Yeah I see what you are all saying. I may not be a "member" because I haven't started posting a lot until recently. But I've been register on Gbatemp for years! Haha

Please no one get me wrong, I am in no way trying to get people to PM me or send me devices!! I just wanted to offer someone some help, since I'm looking to gain some more experience and he needed some help I just wanted to offer. I have really wanted to start getting more active and helping more on the site, and getting a better rep, in everything around here.

I will just have to become more known around here before offering my help I suppose. ;)

Thanks for the support! Haha

I will have to track down a few cheap used consoles to do some modding on firstly. (If I can find any haha) I fully understand the trust and whatnot needed in this type of thing, so I blame no one for going against me, it would be nice however to be able to get a little more support around here when wanting to offer some help. I get how it works though, I'll see what I can find and try to get a little more "proof" out there before fully offering my assistance in this regard.

Thanks! And OP, I do hope you can get something figured out! Sorry about the crappy situation you got stuck in. :/
