Hi guys, names Matt and I'm new here.
So I got my 5 year old 3ds XL for Christmas, and I decided to get one of these Acekard 2i, I thought it would be handier to put few games on one card instead of carrying a bunch of them all the time.
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or is the card not working.
I'm trying to set up the card, so I formatted it, got the AKAIO 1.9 and copied it on to microSD. Popped it back to AK2i, AK2i into the console slot, and now it shows something called DORASU with pink ribbon icon, tot it was the AK2i menu, but as I turn in on all I can see is the black screen with the message "An error has occurred. Press and hold POWER Button to turn the system off. Please refer to the Operations Manual for detals".
Now can somebody please tell me what am I missing :( I'd love to solve this problem until the Christmas :D
Thanks, Matt.

If you haven't updated the 3DS XL, please don't update it.
You need a DS Lite/Phat or a DSi (XL) and you just need to download the update (should start downloading once you click that link) and just run the update program from the flashcard like you would a normal homebrew. Then just fallow the on screen instructions.

OK, so in order to setup the AK2i, I need to get another console, get the update from your link and place it in the root of my microSD? Should AKAIO be there as well?
And then just run it and follow the onscreen instruction. I need to try to get another console so. Thank you Catboy

You've just gotta wait to update your 3DS until the Acekard2i team releases a fix to flash your card (which usually doesn't take that long, by the way)
It's been taking over a month lately... and the 4.4 update was a month and a half ago nad the Ak2i still hasn't updated.

OK that helps. I don't really have an option of getting DS off anyone to update the card, so the update from AK team would be handy. Is it the new AKAIO they have to release or what?

That won't be happening any time soon. Your only option is to update the card on another DS. Some gaming stores let you try out a DS for a few minutes, that's all you need.

I guess I will just wait, and if it won't come out until Xmas then I'll have to find another DS... right now the 3ds is just hidden from the child anyway ;)
Thanks for help guys.

Huh what??
Well yeah, believe me or not but people already started doing their Christmas shopping

He means that he doesn't know why you'd buy a 5 year old a 3DS XL.

Out of curiosity, if he/she is only going to be playing DS games, why didn't you just buy a DSi? They're much cheaper and mostly always compatible with the Acekard.

If I'm buying something, why not to buy the newest that's out there? You get the best performance and experience while playing games, am I not right?

And what you mean:
...if he/she is only going to be playing DS games...
Maybe I'm missing something here, but what else can you do on 3DS (beside playing games)?
I'm new to DS, and before I bought it I didn't even realize there was something like Acekard and the other ones.
All I want to do is to put the games onto one card and let the kid play ;)

I've heard the 3DS doesn't do original DS games very well with the new top screen, but, that's also what I've heard. But it's incredible with 3DS games. So I wouldn't go out and get rid of your previous-gen DS if you get a 3DS, if I were you. Chances are you won't get that much for it anyways you know?

Well sometimes it takes longer. They are a real team of real people, after all. Cut 'em some slack, Jack! XD

(Sorry about the four replies at once. Been gone a while. :S)
