Hey guys, I’m brand new to the Switch scene and have basically playing catch up over the past week (which is a lot of information to absorb!)
My switch was on 3.0.0 before I started. I used SDsetup/Kosmos to get CFW set up, and all was well. I then made a backup of my 3.0.0 NAND, boot0/1 using hekate, as well a biskey dump.
Then yesterday I prepped to update to 6.1.0 using ChoiDujourNX (because hekate didn’t yet officially support 6.2.0, so it seemed the safe option).
I read about the cart slot having its own firmware, and that updating it would mean fucking it up if I had to downgrade to 3.0.0 in the future. So before starting the update process I added “kip1patch=nogc” line to the end of each of my boot entries.
The update process finished without error, and successfully updated to 6.1.0, but when I booted into cfw I was prompted with instructions to eject and reinsert my Smash Bros. cart, but after doing so it threw up a “game card could not be read” error.
I’ve since installed hekate 4.5, but the error still persists.
Have I bricked my cartridge slot?
I’m willing to update to 6.2.0 if there’s no other option, even if it means burning fuses. If I do, should I go through the system settings, or use ChoiDujourNX again? Is it safe to update via system settings when running CFW?
