Gaming Help Finding A Game

Could someone help me identify a game? I can't remember the title at all, so have had no luck finding it.

Here is what I remember about it;

-Side scrolling / Action / Platformer
-You played as a Ninja
-It was for the DS and/or GBA (I'm almost positive it was only for the DS though..)
-It was a sequel [remake?] of a NES game
-You could jump extremely high
-You could throw shuriken
-There was possibly a female ninja (that you were trying to save? I don't remember)
-It was pretty difficult
-I don't think it was very popular
-Not: Ninja Gaiden / Naruto / TMNT / N+ / Tenchu

Any ideas? Generic Google searches such as "side scrolling ninja platformer DS" only turned up the more famous ones such as Ninja Gaiden and Megaman (the one with ninja in the name).

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Ninjs Gaiden Dragon Sword? It matches all of the criteria, though it's not for GBA.

I've heard of this game called N+ where you apparently play as a ninja, I'm not too sure though, I never actually played it.

That game wasn't top-down IIRC, not sidescrolling.

The reviews weren't too great, but I had fun with it, quit 'cause it was hard, then I forgot the name..
