This is the first time I encounter this. Someone brought me a switch that shows 29 | 24 - HOS: Overburnt

I'm not too sure how to fix this, if it's even fixable, as the max number burned should be 21 as far as I know.

Would rebuilding the NAND from a donor fix something like this? I can't seem to find info about overburnt fuses.

Nothing you can do about this because the fuses are inside the CPU.
Afaik, CFW does not look at them.

The only option for using the OFW is to wait until FW version 30 will be release by Nintendo.

Yeah you can't unburn the fuses.

You can boot full cfw, or you can boot "clean" cfw on sys emmc, Atmosphere with no sigpatches/piracy/mods, which is the closest you'll get to official boot.

I'm more curious how they got burned.

Thanks for the clarification, I also don't know what they did to burn more than normal as they explained they only ever used sys-mmc with cfw and wasn't booting the original system.

any clues on what might have caused this? I had a unit in a repair lot that has this issue, a patched V1 with evidence of a prior modchip install showing 27 fuses burnt after I installed a chip of my own for diagnostics. there doesn't seem to be many cases of this overburnt fuse situation out there, quite curious as to what could have happened
