Hi, I'm discovering the joys of owning a Wii in the year of 2026. Better late than never. Been playing the NTSC Virtual Console version of Star Fox 64 a bunch, and there's this annoying audio distortion that's hard to ignore throughout the game, like the audio is crackling. It's most noticable in the end credits. This video I found on youtube shows it off as well, so I know the issue isn't just on my end: (45:56 in case the timestamp doesn't work) I was surprised how nobody online seems to have discussed this over the years. Has anyone else noticed this or similar issues on other n64 VC releases? Is the cause known? Out of curiosity, I did try the PAL Lylat Wars release, and the audio was perfectly fine in that one.

Hacking HBC won't load files off SD/Update

Nowadays whenever I load Homebrew Channel it won't display any of the apps I have stored on my SD card, and when I try to update it only gets a 1-12% through before it says "Download Failed". Any ideas?

Sounds like the SD card is corrupt.

I would suggest backing everything up to your computer (apps/roms/etc)..
formatting the SD card with FAT16 filesystem (don't do quick format, do the full format).

Then recopy some of your stuff back to the SD card and test it out. I've had this happen with a cheaper 2GB SD card that l used to use and after l reformatted it and copied everything back over it worked fine.

If you want to be anal about it you can copy over your files little by little but l just dumped everything back onto the SD card and it worked after that.
