Have you sorted a will?

It seems previously we discussed life insurance, pensions, unions, savings (ish), the idea of buying a house vs renting, jobs and having kids. I caught an advert on TV the other day (I guess a lot of old people watch Discovery channel during the day) and they offered to send my theoretically old arse a free will kit. Might as well finish the list of "responsible adult" behaviours, and also the complete the examples for the "FAST6191 is not a responsible adult" list too.

To that end have you sorted a will? If you want you can also do medical stuff/advance directive type stuff (keep me juiced until the power ends or pull the plug with feet on the wall and both hands on the cord, or finer grain if you like).

As I implied above I have no such thing in place and probably won't. I would be dead so I would not feel bad but assuming that was possible in some way the only thing to feel bad about if I lost a game of beat the bus would be that someone would probably get a backache carting what I own to the dump.

Similarly has anybody gone a bit more modern and figured out a password escrow service? I have dealt with this a few times these last few years and that gets fun with some things.

Personally I am quite young (19) and have given little thought about it but I do have some non legally binding plans written down on the occasion if I am in say a coma and also if I die. If I am in a coma or something I want to only stay on the machines for a month or so since I do not want to be a "vegetable" for many years and cause struggles on my family. As for a will for now most of what I have would stay with my family although I want to give a good amount to charities. Granted I really need to get this done legally (you never know) but that is something I will do soon.

I have nothing to give to anyone.
All the things that do belong to me would be completely meaningless to my friends and family, so why bother?
In the end it would all go to my relatives anyway, with or without a will.
Such is german law.
Once i am dead i shall be incapable of giving a shit about it anyway, so why waste my time?

@FAST6191: I have been reading your replies in this forum for years now. You are always extremely informative, precise and helpful. Many times have i googled something just to find your posts on this forum to be the most helpful search result. Thank you!

Agreed @FAST6191 is one of the best posters on temp.
Anyway in retrospect the replys really do depend on where one lives due to local laws regarding inheritance.

I might consider a will fairly pointless, but i DO have an organ donors card.
I despise it when good things go to waste.

Agreed. Only thing I am a bit paranoid in fearing they may not care as much to keep me alive (even though they can't legally do that). But organ donation is something I really want to do as alot of my family needs them and I want to help people like them.

I left instructions with my companions that they are to act upon following my death, but I couldn't resist the urge to be a complete twat with them. Since they're duty-bound to honour my final wishes, I made all of the songs the most inappropriate songs possible. Most notably the final song is 'Always look on the bright side of life' from Life Of Brian, and it is written into the instructions that everyone has to whistle where appropriate. I've insisted that my sword be used as my headstone (cemented in place, naturally, wouldn't want it being actually dangerous). And there's a clause in there that states that if it's financially viable, my ashes are to be taken to this place called LifeGem and turned into a crystal, a Blaze materia if you will.

Of course I don't expect any of my friends to follow these instructions. They'll probably just chuck me in a hole, sell all my stuff, get pissed and forget all about me.

In the end nothing can truly influence the fact that you will die anyway.
I am no longer afraid of it.
Embrace it and carry such a card around with you.
It will only ever affect what happens AFTER you have died anyhow.
At that point in time nothing will truly matter anyway and you might save some poor bastards life.

Nope, and too young to really care. I will become a organ donor when I have a license but I feel that I will have nothing to give anybody when I die. I will have kids and if I have something of value than I will.

For most of these people, their will is:
In the case I die unexpectedly, HIDE THE PORN!

Why, do you think I should? I'm not liking where this is going...
No I don't. I just have seen to many people on the internet "OHH WOW LOOK AT THE PORN I WATCH"

On topic: I would include the important stuff in my will. Like my wealth if I have any, antiques, things like that
