Saw the news about the exploit and I haven't been following the scene. So just have a couple questions for those that did follow along:

1. Was Nintendo aware of the hardware exploit before today's news?
2. If so, how likely is the stock in the big box retailers stocked already with the hardware fix?

Thank you for answering.

The 90 day disclosure window was going to run out in the middle of June. So yes.

There is a switch pro (or whatever they are going to call it) on it's way, Nintendo will likely announce that in a big way. However they don't need new hardware to fix it, they can patch the exploit at the factory.

Wait, the new revision is being called a Pro?

As other have said

1. Yes and Reswitched informed them or the exploit months ago including all other major companies using the 210.

2. We don't know yet, but based on current global stock I would say sometime during June/July

No, this guy is just a dumbass following uninformed youtubers.

Nintendo will very likely be silently rolling out the new revisions without any kind of fan-fare.

Expect it to come in Holiday system bundles. Like a Smash/Switch bundle. All other models will using the new chip as well.

It's in Nintendos best interest that the average person has no idea of the brom exploit or its potential.
