Can you please explain the handle differences between the C115 and C245 handles? I was also confused since I thought handle size didn't matter.
As far as I can tell they use different size tips. Hence they may have different tips available that are suited for different purposes, and the bigger tips of the C245 have a bigger thermal mass which makes it better for soldering pins/components that suck away a lot of heat.
The bigger handle/tips would probably be used when you're working with very large pins/components or thick wires (high amperage) that need a lot of heat. Which isn't something that most people will usually need, it's mostly needed for soldering stuff like power rails on electric vehicles, not for regular through hole or SMD soldering.
